Nationalrute 10 – Bornholm Rundt is a 104.5 km route along the island's coastline and the shortest of Denmark's national cycle routes. The loop passes through all of Bornholm's coastal towns: Rønne, Hasle, Allinge, Gudhjem, Svaneke, Nexø and Dueodde. The route can be completed in a single day (4–5 h) or split into 4 comfortable stages.
104.5 km – a full loop around the island
4–5 hours without stopping, or 3–4 days in comfortable stages
Mostly asphalt, with gravel and forest sections in the north. Road bikes can bypass the unpaved parts.
Trekking, gravel or MTB. A road bike works if you modify the route in the south.
Below are the stops along the route – from Rønne in a clockwise direction. Each stage offers culinary experiences, artisan crafts, museums, ruins and stunning nature.

The island's capital and starting point. Ferries from Ystad and Sassnitz dock here. The oldest merchant town (1327) with charming streets and ceramic workshops.

A charming fishing port with a traditional smokehouse. Worth stopping for smoked herring. Nearby is Kultippen – the raw terrain of a former coal mine.

The most challenging section of the route – climbs up to 22%. From here it's a short ride to the ruins of Hammershus, Northern Europe's largest medieval fortress on a cliff 74 m above the sea.

Denmark's only "mountain" town – colourful houses on a steep slope above the harbour. Smokehouses serve the famous Sol over Gudhjem. Ferry to Christiansø departs from the port.

Denmark's easternmost town, award-winning for its beautiful architecture. Known for brewing, crafts and excellent restaurants.

The second-largest town with the biggest fishing port. Birthplace of the author of Pelle the Conqueror (Martin Andersen Nexø) – the museum is worth a visit.

A famous beach with the finest sand in Europe – once used in hourglasses. A perfect spot for a swim before the last, flat section of the route.

Closing the loop. The final section through Pedersker, Aakirkeby and Nylars – flat, almost entirely asphalt. A relaxed end to the round trip.
If you don't want to ride the entire route in one day, we suggest splitting it into 4 comfortable stages of 20–30 km each. Each stage is a separate trip with time for sightseeing and rest:
The most challenging stage. Via Hasle, Jons Kapel and the Hammershus ruins. Climb through Vang up to 22%. Asphalt and gravel.
The scenic east coast. Gudhjem, Listed, Helligdomsklipperne cliffs. Gentle climbs, mostly asphalt.
The shortest and easiest stage. Via Nexø to the sandy beaches of Dueodde. Flat terrain, mostly asphalt.
A relaxed end to the round trip. Via Pedersker, Aakirkeby and Nylars. Flat terrain, almost entirely asphalt.
Cycling through Allinge-Sandvig
Green signs with the number 10 and the text Cykelvej. No arrow = go straight. The route runs in both directions.
Officially either way. We recommend clockwise (northward via Hasle) – the westerly wind helps on the return leg.
Rønne, Nexø, Gudhjem, Allinge – standard, electric and children's bikes. Book early in peak season.
Carry bikes free of charge. If one stage wears you out – take the bus back to your base.
Stations at hostels, campsites and service buildings along the route. Full map at VisitBornholm.
Maps.com and Komoot – offline along the entire route. GPX files available for download on the individual stage pages.
