Hasle has a distinctly calm, island atmosphere — it’s the kind of town where it’s easy to slow down and simply enjoy being by the sea. The sunsets here are especially famous, drawing both locals and visitors to the waterfront and wooden jetties during summer evenings. At the harbor, there’s a sea bath with terraces and direct access to the water, and right next to it begin expansive pine forests and long stretches of natural beaches. Hasle is also a great place to discover the taste of Bornholm — the local smokehouse offers traditional fish and the chance to see the island’s smoking techniques in action.
In the center of Hasle, the small fishing harbor and waterfront draw attention, especially in summer when intimate gatherings and local events take place here. It’s worth visiting Hasle Kunsthal – a contemporary art venue housed in a former industrial hall. To the south, a coastal path leads toward Rønne, passing through forests and dunes, while to the north lie the former clay quarry areas, now transformed into small lakes and scenic viewpoints. Hasle is an ideal place for those who appreciate quieter parts of Bornholm and enjoy a simple combination of nature, sea, and relaxed local life.
In the town center, you’ll find Hasle Røgeri – a traditional smokehouse with characteristic white chimneys, where you can taste local fish specialties. It’s also worth visiting Hasle Kunsthal, a gallery presenting exhibitions of contemporary artists in an atmospheric, industrial-style interior.
At the waterfront, there is a sea bath with wooden platforms and direct access to the water – perfect for a morning or evening swim.
North of Hasle are the lakes formed in former clay quarries (Kultippen / Rubinsø), now surrounded by walking paths and scenic viewpoints. Toward Rønne, a coastal walking and cycling route leads through pine forests and stretches of beach.
A bit further north, it’s worth visiting Vang – a quiet village with beautiful views of the coastline and a former quarry transformed into a landscape for walking, exploring, and climbing.
