Hasle Beach – peace, nature and sunsets

The forests surrounding the beach invite peaceful walks, while the area itself offers ideal conditions for relaxation, sunbathing, and admiring some of the most beautiful sunsets on Bornholm.

Overview

Hasle Beach is located slightly south of the town of Hasle, on the west coast of the island of Bornholm.

It is a wide, sandy beach, and its west-facing exposure makes it especially beautiful at sunset.

Thanks to its length, it is easy to find quiet and peaceful spots even during the high season.

Facilities

Parking is available at both ends of the beach – at the northern end near the area known as Klympen, and at the southern end along Glasværksvej.

Public toilets are located near Glasværksvej.

Please be aware of sea currents, especially during onshore winds.

The beach lies close to forested areas, offering opportunities for walks and access via paths through wooded terrain.

Nearby attractions

To the south of the beach lies an area known as Kultippen – a so-called "moon-like" landscape. It was formed from waste material left after the extraction of coal, clay, gravel, and sand during the First and Second World Wars, resulting in sparse vegetation.

Hasle Beach is often referred to as a "hidden gem" of Bornholm, valued for its natural character and far fewer visitors compared to more tourist-oriented beaches.

Beyond the beach itself, the surrounding area offers forests, small lakes formed in former quarries (such as Rubinsø), local fish smokehouses, and the harbour.
