Balka Beach is one of the most picturesque spots in southern Bornholm. Wide, with fine light sand and shallow waters, it’s perfect for peaceful seaside walks as well as swimming in crystal-clear water. Compared to the neighboring Snogebæk Beach, Balka is slightly more open and popular, yet it still retains Bornholm’s characteristic tranquility and natural charm. A cycling path and a promenade run along the beach, and during the summer season, there’s a small water sports rental and a seaside café with a beautiful view of the sea.

One of the most popular beaches on the island of Bornholm, known for its fine white sand and shallow, warm waters – perfect for families with children.

The beach stretches for several kilometers and is sheltered from the prevailing summer westerly winds, providing a comfortable place to relax. However, to swim freely, you need to walk a bit further into the sea.

Facilities

Lifeguards are present on the beach during the summer season, ensuring safety for visitors.

Parking spaces are available right next to the beach. A "parkeringstavle" (parking disc) is required – it can be purchased at petrol stations or tourist information centers.

Mini-golf, kiosks/cafés, and toilets are standard facilities available on site.

Restaurants and shops are easily accessible in nearby Snogebæk – a fishing village connected to the beach – where you’ll find restaurants, cafés, small shops, smokehouses, and ice cream parlors.

Barrier-free access – from the parking area on Frederiksvej, wooden boardwalks and a ramp lead directly to the beach, making it accessible for people with reduced mobility.
