Dueodde popular beach

Dueodde popular beach
5.0

Dueodde is one of the most beautiful and recognizable beaches not only in Denmark but throughout Europe. It is famous for its exceptionally fine, white sand, considered one of the cleanest and softest in the world – it was even once used in the production of hourglasses. The water is crystal clear and transparent, although its depth varies in places due to numerous underwater shallows and reefs.

The most beautiful beach in Scandinavia

The beach stretches for several kilometers along the southern tip of Bornholm. Its beginning is in the charming town of Snogebæk – a former fishing village, now also known as a popular holiday home area. In this part, the beach is narrower, but it gives a sense of privacy – you can often enjoy peace and space almost entirely to yourself.

Overview

Dueodde is one of the most famous and appreciated beaches on Bornholm – known for its exceptionally fine, light sand, which was once used in hourglasses.

It stretches for several kilometers along the island’s southern coast; from the narrow section at Snogebæk, through the widest area surrounded by dunes, all the way to Jomfrugård – a section known as a naturist beach.

The waters are clean and clear, and shallow sandbanks form near the shore, allowing for both shallow and deeper bathing areas.

Facilities

Parking is available along Fyrvejen and Skrokkegårdsvej. From the parking area, wooden boardwalks of over 500 meters lead through the dunes – ideal for bicycles, strollers, and people with disabilities.

Next to the parking area, there are toilets (including accessible ones) with baby-changing facilities, a kiosk, and a bus stop.

Nearby you’ll find Bornholms Familie & StrandCamping Dueodde and Dueodde Feriepark.
