Rønne Lighthouse (Rønne Bagfyr)

Rønne Lighthouse (Rønne Bagfyr)

The lighthouse in Rønne is one of the most distinctive port landmarks on Bornholm and has been a recognisable feature of the town’s coastal landscape for more than a century. Although it has not served its original navigational function since 1989, it remains a cherished historical monument and an important point of orientation for both locals and visitors to the island.

A Stroll with Views of the Harbour and Historic Church

Rønne Bagfyr forms a charming corner of the town not only thanks to its coastal location, but also due to its proximity to two notable sights: a small, picturesque church and a viewpoint offering a panoramic look across the entire harbour. From here, you can observe the everyday rhythm of Rønne — arriving ferries, fishing boats and the characteristic waterfront buildings.

The church situated right next to the lighthouse adds a peaceful, almost intimate atmosphere to the area. Surrounded by greenery and small paths, it makes a pleasant stop during a stroll along the coast. The nearby viewpoint, located just a few steps away, offers the chance to pause and admire the town from a perspective found nowhere else — the harbour panorama stretches out widely, looking particularly impressive at sunset.
